A Better Way to Invest
BEN GRAHAM:
"Always stress downside protection before upside potential."

Our Inspiration

Our founder, Daren Taylor, has a real passion for value investing. In the early 1990s, he read a book about Warren Buffett. That book changed his life. Not only did it encourage him to read dozens of books about Buffett and other great value investors, but it inspired him to go back to school to get a degree in economics and finance and to study value investing at Columbia Business School—Warren Buffett’s alma mater.

Warren Buffett has often said that he is 85% Ben Graham and 15% Philip Fisher, when talking about influences on his investment philosophy. Mr. Taylor’s investment philosophy has also been shaped by the lessons of Fisher and Graham, but more so by the writings and actions of Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, Bill Nygren, Donald Yacktman, Prem Watsa, Seth Klarman, Bruce Greenwald and Michael van Biema, among others. Mr. Taylor will graciously admit that anything he says or does related to investing has probably already been said or done by one of these great investors. Every single day, these inspirational investors and teachers encourage us to be the best and most professional investment managers we can be for our clients.
